What to upgrade? Town Hall
One rule: Town Hall first. Everything else waits for its ceiling.
Your City Hall level caps almost every other building. If you “beautify” the city evenly, you stall.
The KitKiller trap — don’t “max the city” first
If you first push all buildings up to your current Town Hall level and only then raise the Hall again — you slow yourself down hard. You lag the whole development tempo.
Why: Town Hall level = Academy level and Alliance Center level. Keep those two capped with TH (details: Buildings & research). That is not a green light to max farms, barracks, and every shed before the next Hall.
VIP / second builder still matter for queue tempo — this rule is about what you queue, not spending gems wrong.
How to play it
- Queue Town Hall whenever you can.
- Upgrade only what the next Town Hall level requires (Wall, Academy, Hospital…).
- Keep Academy and Alliance Center at the Hall cap.
- Skip vanity levels on farms and barracks until the Hall moves.
Checkpoints (remember these)
| Hall | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| 16 | Path to stronger mid-game troops |
| 17 | Extra march queue — farming & fighting breathe |
| 21 | Next troop tier unlocked on the tech path |
| 25 | Endgame Hall — T5 path, full city ceiling |
Alliance tip
Before a big spend of speedups — ask in chat which checkpoint the kingdom wants this week. Rushing blind wastes gems.
